My hands grabbed you
handled you with hunger and passion,
violently turning your pages,
to see, to learn, to find word after word,
entering boldly, embracing the worlds you painted!
-
My eyes devoured your lines,
deeply entranced, captured by your magic,
feeling like a queen , a witch, a pirate captian,
sailing the seven seas, discovering treasures.
-
And I cried with you, hot tears marking my cheeks
which you soaked up as nectar coming from the gods
and you became battered, worn out,,,,
-
You held me hostage, near the end.
Then left me hungry for more,,,
-
I thank you,my books,,,,
